Taramati is one of two peaks onHarishchandragad, a mountain plateau in the state ofMaharashtra,India. This is the sixth highest peak in Maharashtra State (1431 m/ 4695 ft above sea level). Located atop the Harishchandragad plateau, the peak offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains in theSahyadris range, includingKalsubai, the highest peak in Maharashtra.
The peak is named after Taramati, the wife of legendary kingHarishchandra.
