Taphrosphys is an extinctgenus ofbothremydidpleurodiran turtle that was discoveredAngola,Morocco[1] and theUnited States.[2] The genus consists of type speciesPlatemys sulcatus (combinatio novaT. sulcatus),T. ippolitoi,T. congolensis, and the dubiousT. dares.[2][3]
The holotype ofTaphrosphys was discovered inNew Jersey.[2]
