Tanjung Aru is a sub-district ofKota Kinabalu inSabah, ofMalaysia. Its main feature is its beach called Tanjung Aru Beach which stretches to over 2 kilometres long along with new skyscrapers.[1] This beach has a lot ofCasuarina equisetifolia trees (aru) there naming this town.[2]
It also has its own township called Tanjung Aru Town. Other notable features include thePerdana Park, the Kinabalu Golf Club, the Kinabalu Yacht Club, and theTanjung Aru railway station ofSabah State Railway.[3]
The neighbourhood of Tanjung Aru Village served as the 3rd Pit Stop in the24th season ofAmerican edition ofThe Amazing Race and the 2nd Pit Stop in4th season ofthe Asian version.[4][5]
