Tamer Hassan (born 18 March 1968) is a British actor. He is best known for his role as the leader of the Millwall firm, oppositeDanny Dyer inThe Football Factory (2004). He has also appeared inLayer Cake (2004),Batman Begins (2005),The Business (2005),Kick-Ass (2010),The Hooligan Factory (2014),Game of Thrones (2016) andSnatch (2017–2018).

Hassan was born and brought up inNew Cross,London into aTurkish Cypriot family.^[1][2][3]

Hassan first started working on market stalls at an early age and started boxing at the age of 10. He began anamateur boxing career at the age of 17 where he won two British titles. Having sustained an injury inamateur boxing, he turned to running his ownnightclubs and restaurants.^[4][3]

Hassan started acting in television before his role inThe Calcium Kid.^[4] He was cast as the leader of a fictionalfootball firm inThe Football Factory, alongsideDanny Dyer andFrank Harper.^[4] The film's directorNick Love subsequently cast him in the primary supporting role forThe Business.^[5]

Hassan has had roles in films includingThe Ferryman,^[5]Batman Begins,^[5]Cass,^[5]Eastern Promises,^[5] andClash of the Titans,^[5] in which he portrayedAres, theancient Greek god ofwar. In 2011, he played "The Boss", a shady police officer, in the British film noirJack Falls. He played "Chavez" inWrong Turn 3: Left for Dead.^[5]

In 2016 he joined theHBO seriesGame of Thrones inSeason 6 as Khal Forzo.^[6]

Hassan is married and has two children: a son who is a professionalfootball player,^[7] and a daughter, Belle, who appeared in thefifth series ofLove Island in 2019.^[8]

He is a director ofNasdaq-listed companyLottery.com Inc.^[9] He is also a fan ofMillwall.^[10]
