João Carlos Araújo Fonseca Silva (born 30 August 1989), known asTalocha, is a Portuguese professionalfootballer who plays as aleft-back forLiga 3 clubVarzim.
Born in Antas,Vila Nova de Famalicão, Talocha developed atF.C. Famalicão, and played his first senior matches for his hometown club in the lower divisions, including their 2008–09 nadir in theBraga Football Association's first district league. He transferred across thethird tier toF.C. Vizela in 2013. On 17 December of the following year, he scored twice againstSporting CP in thelast 16 of theTaça de Portugal, albeit in a 3–2 home loss.[2]
On 29 May 2016, Talocha jumped two divisions to thePrimeira Liga, signing forBoavista F.C. on a two-year deal.[3] He made his professional debut in theseason-opening 2–0 home win overF.C. Arouca, on 14 August.[4] Having barely missed a game, he got his first goal on 14 January 2018 to open a win by the same score againstPortimonense S.C. also at theEstádio do Bessa, after afree kick byDavid Simão.[5]
When Talocha was about to become afree agent in May 2018, Boavista gave him a new deal for the next two years.[6] A year later, he completed a century of appearances with the side fromPorto in a match withC.S. Marítimo, amidst interest from other clubs.[7]
On 5 August 2019, Talocha reached an agreement to end his contract with a year remaining and headed abroad for the first time, toAtromitos F.C. inSuper League Greece; his former employers remained 20% of his economic rights.[8] He switched to theLatvian Higher League the followingtransfer window, joining championsRiga FC.[9]
Talocha returned to thePortuguese top flight on 7 August 2020, signing a two-year deal withGil Vicente F.C.[10] He then moved to theLiga Portugal 2 withS.C. Farense,[11] achieving promotion in the2022–23 campaign.[12]
On 21 August 2024, Talocha joined second-tierC.D. Tondela on a two-year contract.[13] He totalled 30 matches in hisonly season as they promoted as champions, but was not retained subsequently.[14]
In September 2025, aged 36, Talocha signed forLiga 3 clubVarzim SC.[15]
