Is there a difference in identities between the three numbered sky sports channels, ie does 1 concentrate on football, 2 on rugby, 3 on golf or maybe a national/international split, or are they effectively interchangable?MrWeebleTalkBrit tv11:44, 23 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed this line >"WWE programming is the second most watched programming on the channel only beaten on occasion by high profile Premiership football matches."
This is no longer true and has been the case for some years now. Golf, Cricket, Boxing, Soccer AM all out perform WWE programming on a weekly basis. The ratings for WWE are nothing like they once were. Several years back, the WWE ratings for RAW were around 400,000+ - the same show today is usually around the 60,000 to 100,000 rating now.
This week's (26/03/2006) ratings include Soccer AM (306,000), Cricket (208,000), Speedway (136,000), Golf (103,000) and WWE RAW (71,000). --Revolt17:48, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The advertisment banner has been added to the page, could reasons for this be posted by the user who added it in order to remove/rewrite these sections.Alexj200217:36, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think this section is unencyclopedia and could probably be better replaced with individuals included under to correct Sky Sports programming section. I've started to do so for some sports.Alexj200215:48, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fromthearticle: "For the first time in 2006, Sky Sports will hold exclusive rights to live Heineken Cup rugby in the UK and ROI, with RTE only able to show tape-delayed coverage and S4C able to show only highlights."
ERCrugby.com[1] states S4C are showing live games. Is that correct?Alexj200200:06, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You may of wondered who added the WWE and Motor Racing info. I added it as I thought it would be important for people to know. Also I put a bit about motor racing as Sky Sports does show major motor racing competitions. Do not remove this.
There is no need to list all the pay-per-view events on wwe. It takes up too much space and is a bit irrelevant. There is no list of all football games or rugby games shown on Sky Sports, so there shouldnt be one on wrestling, which isnt a major programme compared to football and cricket.—The precedingunsigned comment was added by81.153.9.136 (talk)01:35, 24 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Is it possible to obtain these channels through a cable or satellite company in the US? The reason I'm asking is because it doesn't seem like I can access the UEFA Champions League games through any channels here (ESPN Deportes doesn't exist through any company here and ESPN lied about their listings on ESPN Classic and ESPN2...and they don't even air all the games and the Fox Soccer Channel doesn't look like they air it at all).—The precedingunsigned comment was added by69.123.251.204 (talk)00:40, 7 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]
The article mentions Sky recently losing the right to Frank Warren's Sports Network boxing to ITV but when did they get the rights in the first place. I seem to think it was around 1996, but can anyone provide a source?Scarletman15:24, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I recall that the BBC did some live coverage of the 1987 Ashes tour to Australia; I think its true that Sky was the first to cover an entire match but not the first to broadcast live coverage of an overseas game.Apepper08:17, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Can anyone please tell me if Sky Sports HD is showing WWE HD programming?—Precedingunsigned comment added by125.212.20.181 (talk)11:37, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not currently no. Article below covers it.
Hey guys, just thought I would let you know that WWE will NOT be going HD in the UK. That comes as a major surprise as Sky Sports has TWO HD channels dedicated especially to HD broadcasts. The only reasons I can think of are that -
1) It would cost too much for WWE to beam a HD broadcast across the Atlantic.
2) Sky Sports only seem to broadcast in HD when THEIR cameras are on location.
Also, the Royal Rumble will not be broadcast on Sky Box Office HD, again, another surprise as the Ricky Hatton vs Floyd Mayweather fight was.http://www.wrestleview.com/news2006/1200953873.shtmlXkingoftheworldx (talk)13:26, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Is half of a paragraph that size necessary for one show?—Precedingunsigned comment added by86.132.160.204 (talk)17:27, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How did Sky Sports HD launch on 13 February 2006, if Sky+ HD didn't launch until 22 May 2006? According to thisarticle, the HD launch channels appeared early on the EPG with upgrade messages but didn't actually broadcast. -Jasmeet_181 (talk)07:27, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
On Sunday 31 Jan 2010, the Arsenal v Man Utd game was also shown in 3D in around 30 pubs around the UK. The special glasses were seen being tried by Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, and the commentators and the studio presenters made mention of this being a world premiere live sports 3D presentation several times (seeSky makes 3D history for details). Perhaps this should be mentioned in the article somewhere, but I don't know how best to work it into the current wording.Astronaut (talk)04:23, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is a well known fact that British rugby league's governing body, the RLF, it totally within the grasp of Sky Sports TV and have plainly and simply become nothing more than Sky's lackeys. When Sky say to the RFL "Jump", the RFL says back "How high?". The sooner they part company the better.— Precedingunsigned comment added by51.9.99.218 (talk)13:05, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Surely Sky Sports Football has replaced Sky Sports 5 instead of Sky Sports Premier League. Sky Sports 5 mainly showed European football which I understand that Sky Sports Football is going to do. Also Sky Sports 5 rarely showed live Premier League matches, which I believe Sky Sports Premier League will do.Mobile mundo (talk)16:27, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
