Under Relays, there is this sentence "Without therepeater, Morse devised a system of electromagnetic relays." The article text and the link "Relay#History|repeater" suggest that a repeater is an electromagnetic relay. Anyone have an idea of what the sentence is supposed to mean? --agr (talk)17:16, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As it currently stands (September 2024), this section is rambling and unfocused, with vague references and assumptions ("Morse thought", "Some believe", "Critics believed") and mentions of names like Jedediah Morse coming out of nowhere. It's an off-putting read. I suggest we move all the philosophical and political details to their own section except as brief descriptions (a line or two) of his painting work.Wellesradio (talk)17:56, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
seconded, for a prominent biography article with thousands of edits its in a remarkably bad state. Half of the article is about paintings, with too much detail and not enough perspective, the rest is weirdly subdivided into tons of headings which arent interconnected enough. Historical receptions seems to be missing entirely, the actual invention of the telegraph is omitted almost totally, as is everything related to Vail. Theres also no bibliography of his writings beyond patents, even if one of his pro-slavery pamphlets is mentioned. The citations are a mess too. —jonas (talk)18:56, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
