Please generate a starmap of the skypath of New Horizons similiar to that for Voyager 1, which can be seen onhttps://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Voyager_1_skypath_1977-2030.png !
Agree, this would be wonderful. Wish I knew how to do it.ElectronicsForDogs (talk)10:57, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There are a number of other interesting artefacts onboard NH - an American cloth flag, a silver coin, a piece ofSpaceShipTwo, and most importantly the cremated remains ofClyde Tombaugh as well as a small epitaph for him.
These should be added IMO, it's an interesting contrast to thePioneer plaque and theVoyager Golden Record. As well as, in my view, the most magnificent tomb in human history - he's leaving his home star behind and wandering the night sky for untold millions of years.ElectronicsForDogs (talk)11:04, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In thehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Horizons#Post-Pluto_events section it talks about a distance of 4.5 light-hours (3 billion km or 20 AU or 1.9 billion mi). But a light-hour is about a billion kilometres.
By contrast, thehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pluto page says: Light from the Sun takes 5.5 hours to reach Pluto at its orbital distance of 39.5 AU (5.91 billion km; 3.67 billion mi).
Hope this helps!Dominic 355 113 (talk)13:56, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
