I think this page needs a big re-working. Navara, if it is indeed shastika as people say, was once considered the main rice of ayurveda. The foundational text, Caraka Samhita, mentions it first as part of what to eat regularly. It's also mentioned in numerous rasayana (rejuvenative) and aphrodisiac formulas. It is perhaps because of its rarity that it now seems used for only certain treatments (and then, only by very few). From the lack of mention, I'd suspect that few modern ayurvedic doctors know about it or regularly use it.Gyuen (talk)13:52, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
