Someone should mention the GBA games.—The precedingunsigned comment was added byAlcy (talkcontribs)07:20, 30 January 2006 (UTC).[reply]

English

[edit]

Hello. Somebody should add a section about the English dub, ADV Films is creating a dub of it.86.10.227.232 (talk)17:26, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Until an official announcement of the dub is released, there will be no section for that. And I would really recommend staying off of that for now, because it's still pretty unsettled.Karuseikaarie (talk)01:32, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Picture?

[edit]

The previous picture in the infobox for this article was a picture of Lucia in her idol form. I felt this was not representative enough of the entire anime, and replaced it with a picture of the entire mermaid idol cast. If anybody feels this is unnecessary and would like to revert to the original picture, it can be found athttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:PinkPearlVoice.jpg . Thanks!Bonjour12300:58, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Character articles merged

[edit]

I've merged all the individual character articles into a single article:Characters of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. SeeWP:FICT as to why I did so.Nifboy23:17, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Character Names

[edit]

Currently, the article says:

Thespellings of the names of the Mermaid Princesses are based from how they were spelled in the official merchandise. Other names were based from the ones used by fans over the internet.

Surely, the other character names should be taken from the most official English language source of all - the Del Ray translation? --Ppk0115:10, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question is... howare they spelled in the Del Ray manga? -上村七美 |talk15:13, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing as I do not have possession of any of the manga issues (and probably won't until Christmas), the truth is in the darkness forever... for now.Ppk0115:23, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The English manga uses the official names, with Del Rey's trademark macrons. Therefore, we have 'Lucia Nanami, Nikora, Hippo, Kaito Dômoto, Hanon Hôshô, Gackto, Izûru, Eriru, Rina Tôin, Yûri, Noel, Momo-chan, Maria, Taki-san, Meru andKura-chan for all the characters that have been named and appeared thus far. Sara, Coco and Caren have appeared but were not named; however, it is assumed that they too will use the official spellings. --Sana Jisushi18:00, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Na, how could I forgetTarô Mitsuki/Mizuki? Both have been used. --Sana Jisushi18:02, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do you meanmacrons orcircumflexes? You used circumflexes in those you listed above. -上村七美 |talk18:37, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Better use macrons, so as to conform to theJapanese Manual of Style (which, as it turns out, is written in English).Ppk0110:32, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Cleanup of 30 October 2006

[edit]

Here's a summary of what's been changed.

  • The HTML-style comments have been removed, and replaced with a single one atop the Characters section.
  • The article's title isMermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, the most commonly used title for the franchise, so this is still the title used throughout the article. However, the English manga title has now been emboldened to give it emphasis. Likewise, the titles in the infoboxes have been corrected (thanks toJSH-alive).
  • The opening paragraph has been spaced out.
  • The basic story has been clarified a bit.
  • The seiyū section has been merged into the Characters section using theanime voices template.
  • Slight rephrasing in the opening and the songs sections.
  • Information on the anime in other countries has been moved to aThe anime in other countries section.

All this should help bring the article into line with theWikiProject Anime and Manga Article Structure Guidelines. Enjoy! --Ppk0113:54, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mermaid Melody on Disney Channel

[edit]

I've seen the show in parts on YouTube. If they're gonna release the show in America, they should air it on Disney Channel. I was gonna suggest Disney XD, but that channel is intended for boys. In America, it should only be called "Mermaid Melody". I also have a list of American voice actors and names for some of the characters:

The ones on the left are the original Japanese names, the middle names are the new American names, and on the right, the American voice actors.

Lucia Alicia Debby Ryan Hanon Hannah Sarah Hyland Kaito Ken David Henrie Hippo Hippo Tom Kenny

Like I said, SOME of the characters. Please do not complain.

And there could be a soundtrack to the American version of the show......— Precedingunsigned comment added by76.127.187.71 (talk)22:27, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rename to Pichi Pichi Pitch?

[edit]

I know that for a time. ADV had license the anime series and was going to release it under the nameMermaid Melody, however things fell through and it never happened. Del Ray Manga did license the manga and release it asPichi Pichi Pitch with Mermaid Melody as aWP:SUBTITLE. Given that the manga is the primary work and also the version that was released in English, shouldn't the article be renamed toPichi Pichi Pitch perMOS:A&M#Article names and disambiguation? —Farix (t | c)16:39, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
