Hey, I think this article is misnamed.Euphemism is about slapping a nicer name on something which is considered taboo or impolite-to-discuss-openly-for-some-reason. On the other hand, this is an excellent article about politically motivated name changes. This is not euphemism!
So I propose to rename this article to "List of political renamings". How's that?-Bazuz (talk)21:02, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I check pages listed inCategory:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content fororphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some ofList of politically motivated renamings's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct forthis article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

A clear example of a politically motivated change of a geographic name:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bartow_County,_Georgia (see History section)
Many items on that page are part of this page, making the latter essentially a sub-list of this, so I think they should be merged.Xeroctic (talk)16:04, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
