I movedTurkey fromEurope toAsia. With less than 5% of the country in Europe and 95% in the middle east it is an asian country. It is just geography (there would be many more political, economic, historic, and religious reasons, but I won't start adiscussion here). Please remember: Turkey is NOT in Europe.--Karljoos (talk)11:41, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Shouldn't it be footnoted, that the Kosovo is not recognized by the vast majority of the UN-members? --Anhänger der Aufklärung 2.0 (talk)00:16, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the last execution in East Germany had been held on June 26, 1981. The last person having been executed wasWerner Teske, who had been convicted for (alleged) treason. And the last execution in Western Germany was held in the beginning 1950s. I will search for it. --Anhänger der Aufklärung 2.0 (talk)13:41, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The last executions in Algeria mention the death of 7 islamists. How could it matter their religious beliefs? Does that imply that they were executed for that reason? I believe the answer is negative, and so that information should be modified.—Precedingunsigned comment added by150.244.23.54 (talk)13:17, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have a feeling I'm doing this wrong. When I cite it by the current month, ie oct11 , it's wrong, because the most recent month is listed under their main page. But if I cite it under the main page, the citation would be wrong in a month, when they update the site. Anyone help me with this?Czolgolz (talk)01:35, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The link to Andrew Cook leads to a WWII hero who died in 1942, and not to the man executed in February 2013.86.28.165.76 (talk)23:01, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According toWest Berlin § Legal status, "the occupation of most of Germany ended in 1949 with the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany (23 May 1949) and of the German Democratic Republic (7 October 1949)".
According toCapital punishment in Germany, "last common criminal to be executed in the Western Zones under German authority was Richard Schuh [...] on February 18, 1949; in West Berlin the last execution was of Berthold Wehmeyer [...] on May 12, 1949".
As occupied territory, theTrizone was not "sovereign" or "independent" in the sense of the list criterion "executions performed in the territory of a sovereign state when it was a colony or before the sovereign state gained independence are not included". If nobody objects, I'll change the entry for Germany to read "final days of WWII", "person(s) unknown".Paradoctor (talk)22:31, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a way to get the entry to read "Washington, D.C.", instead of just "Washington" (identical to the entry above it, for the State of Washington)? I tried a few things ... nothing worked. I don't know how to manipulate that particular template. Thanks.Joseph A. Spadaro (talk)14:47, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, all.@PrimeHunter:- thank you so much for fixing this! Much appreciated! Appreciate your expertise in these computer/ technical / coding matters!Joseph A. Spadaro (talk)14:36, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The 1999 execution was in Chechnya which at the time was not controlled by the central authority. Russia in 1999 already had moratorium on death penalty. Technically speaking, the 1999 event is not an execution, it is murder. The last execution by the authorities was in 1996.--Ymblanter (talk)14:44, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think the first column of each table should work again now: I added letters to the legend to assist with screen readers. The choice of letters was on the basis ofD meaning "death penalty" andA meaning "abolished". --Minoa(talk)04:40, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
