What evidence is there that Sayer went to school withDonny Tourette? Sayer is 58 and Tourette is 24! What type of school was this?!carena 22:36, 3 January 2007 (UTC)I'm sure that was just an act of vandalism, and so have deleted it :)Dannyfrankland23:03, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This page got a mention on "Big Brother Digital Spy".Article Mentioned in this link—The precedingunsigned comment was added byFireSpike (talk •contribs)21:27, 5 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]
I am not sure if this merits inclusion but, on the live feed of Celebrity Big Brother on E4, Dirk Benedict just made the rather telling comment about Sayer:
'He's so insecure he's the kind of guy who edits his own Wikipedia entry'.
I would like to nominate this comment as one of the best put-downs of the 21st Century.
If you should chose to use this quote in the main entry on Sayer, my attribution is:

Doesn't seem to be a very fair putdown, why shouldn't someone correct or comment on a page about themselves? They are experts on the subject.PeterM88 (talk)07:27, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I clearly remember that "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" was a hit during the spring and early summer of 1977, and not in 1976, as the article claims. At least this was true in the United States. It might have been recorded in 1976, but in the U.S., it was a hit song in the spring and early summer of '77.Slater7901:00, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This sounds like a joke/vandalism -He is allegedly set to release a new single called 'Happy Hour' some time in the future. --218.223.193.14423:29, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the link to the articleBedford Hotel (Brighton), as Sayer worked at the King's Hotel in Hove - confusion has arisen as there were fires at both hotels in the 1960's. The[1] in the new text reproduces text from newspaper articles of the day reporting on events, and Sayer himself appears to have posted a comment to this site correcting the hotel name. As the Bedford Hotel article references this story, I've updated that as well. —samttalk12:25, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the entire paragraph because, frankly, it is trivia and minor. Let's get a grip and focus on Leo Sayer and his work.—Precedingunsigned comment added by217.44.137.245 (talk)23:04, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why are some artists albums and singles listed in table format (i.e.Gino Vannelli) while others are like the one on this page? The table is a lot easier to read I think.—Precedingunsigned comment added by152.133.8.2 (talk)16:35, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We have four sections, and apart fronm the 'life and career' section we have:
'Celebrity Big Brother 5''1967 hotel fire''Wiggles Guest Appearance'
See the problem? Wiki has become trivia, and not a balanced representation of someone's life and works, but a dumping ground for trivia and minor facts. Sayer wrote every song on Roger Daltry's sucessful solo album, but 'Celebrity Big Brother 5''1967 hotel fire' and \'Wiggles Guest Appearance' have more space dedicated to them.
God knows, if Winston Churchill were stll alive, his appearance on Big Brother would be his crowning glory.
This makes it seem like he is no longer a British citizen, which im pretty sure he still is. Would it be better to call him English-Australian?Kasbaar (talk)16:50, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In March 1975 in the Netherlands "Train" had been released as a follow-up to his #1-hit "Long tall glasses"; it reached #23 over there. Alas that record can't be fit into the diagram, can't it?2NG (talk)23:36, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Why has Leo Sayer's hit single, "You Know I Can Dance", not been mentioned ?— Precedingunsigned comment added by210.55.212.27 (talk)21:51, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Partly to address concerns about trivia highlighted above under "the Leo Sayer page shows why wiki hs a bad reputation", I've rewritten and expanded the last two paragraphs of Personal life into a new subsection "Health issues".My edit is also based upon two new working sources for the information; they replace the previous single reference which, at least from today's date, was on an unreachable page due to "403 - Forbidden".Twistlethrop (talk)09:03, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I found the video of the interview Sayer did when he made the claim of the potential Elvis visit. I also found many other places where folks offered a more detailed look as to whether the claim could have been true based on the facts concerning Elvis' life at that time in Aug. 1977. The events around Elvis at that time casts serious doubt as to whether Sayer is remembering accurately. There is no way to substantiate the call Sayer claimed to have received unfortunately. Elvis was to have been finalizing details for his tour the day after his death which casts doubt of the length of the possible visit being "days". The claim of hearing the news of the death in the morning casts doubt since the official announcement of death occurred 3:30pm Memphis time.
I've removed the paragraph concerning the Elvis visit due to this info which is corroborated by several sites I looked at. Obviously they could all be copying each other in their analysis. My thought was that some "fans" of Elvis would have deeper info than casual fans resulting in a more believable look at the claim. Either way, not my monkey, not my circus. Unless credible 3rd party sources can be found for the claim it should not be restored to the article and perpetuate a possible false claim.THX1136 (talk)16:07, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
