File:Inside the Kurobe Tunnel.jpg

[edit]

Sorry, but I don't think the image gives a "typical view" of the line. First, the image depicts (as the file name suggests) the Kurobe Tunnel, not the Kanden Tunnel; second, inside the Kurobe Tunnel there is no trolleybus service. Trolleybuses should have overhead wires but in the image there aren't any. So it's not appropriate to have the image in this article, imho. --Yasu (talk)14:58, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

At first, I thought you were wrong (and that the water drops on the windshield of the bus simply obscure the view of the overhead wires), because I had never heard of a "Kurobe Tunnel" and it is not shown on any maps I have seen or mentioned in any literature I have about theTateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. However, I then discovered that the Wikipedia article named "Kurobe Senyō Railway" mentions a Kurobe Tunnel, for buses, andthis photo of a map even shows it marked. According to the article, that tunnel is not open to the public, except for special study tours a few times a year, and that must be the reason that it is not shown on public maps. The vehicle from which the photo was taken was almost certainly the highway-type motor coach shown inthis other photo in the very same Flickr set. Thanks for correcting the error. I have now added the photo to thatother article.SJ Morg (talk)09:19, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
