While I agree that this page should be deleted, it does not meet any of the establishedcriteria. Therefore, I've replaced the "db" template with a "prod" template; we can proceed to AfD if anyone objects. Also, I recommendtranswiki-ing this to theWikibooks cookbook before deleting it. –Sommers(Talk)01:26, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have never heard of "congealed" salad either. But after reading the congealed salad article, I realized that it was describing "jelly" salad. It's my feeling that both the "congealed salad" and "jello salad" articles should be merged into the broader salad article AND that the name of this particular salad should be changed to "jelly salad" rather than the commercial name "jello". Perhaps a note could be made that some people call it "jello salad".EJ Minston12:29, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that "jello salad" and "congealed salad" should be merged. The title of the new page should be "gelatin salad" or "jellied salad". Or better still, merge both "jello salad" and "congealed salad" into "salad." "Jell-o" is a brand name of flavoured gelatin crystals and "jelly" is the English language term. I have never heard of a "congealed salad" but I see this term does exist on "google." My cook books refer to "gelatin salad" CAM 06:18, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
I STRONGLY believe that the articles should NOT be merged but the merge suggestion box SHOULD remain because reading the sentence "It has been suggested that this article or section be merged with congealed salad" stopped me from killing myself. Who knows how many other lives it might save. That's funny!69.182.20.15504:48, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Jello Salad and the mentioned congealed salad are American versions of either old world "set-cream" desserts from France, or desserts likebavarians orpanna cotta from Italy. The key ingredient in each is not what is being set, but the setting method which is the used of gelatin (not Jello, the gelatin which makes it Jello). Although there was never a merge done, which I do not believe there should be, they should all fall under a larger article calledGelatin Desserts perhaps, but still with their individual well written, detailed articles.
how about gelatin salad— Precedingunsigned comment added by72.193.24.148 (talk)00:03, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"Not to be confused with it's real counterpart and supposed ingredient, Jello, contrary to popular belief, Jello Salad is purely fictional, making it not real. In addition to that, attempting to make Jello Salad has been made illegal on March 17th, 2002, due to people trying to consume their attempts of making Jello Salad and getting food poisoning."
This appears to be added content that is false? Doesn't make sense at any rate.i don't know how to tag things for review and don't want to edit content without some consensus that yes, it is incorrect.Never done this stuff before.184.164.3.114 (talk)20:15, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
