According to 2024 report[1], India was 11th most popular destination. I'd agree that in light of drop Thai -> Indian tourism is a little less relevant, but on the other hand a single sentence doesn't seem too excessive.OhNoitsJamieTalk18:12, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"India is also a major tourist destination for Thai people, and was the fifth most popular destination for Thai tourists outside East Asia in 2017"
This is what wiki says now. I think if the page was built as a history of thai tourism to india, it could work, but there are several problems. First, it's data from one year, 2017, specifically. We have more data. As you say now they're place 11. Another issue is that the references actually doesn't say it's a major destination. How to define it? Place 11? And i also find it quite of topic. This is about Indians in Thailand, not thai people in india, there's already other pages related to that and indian tourism.
Major seems like exaggeration. As it stands now, especially with just one cherry picked year from long time ago, it is actually quite misleading.
I would be in favour of at least removing the word major and or provide more data from more years, if it is necessary to even discuss thai tourism in india on this page, which I don't really think.61.45.122.36 (talk)04:42, 26 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, now it's an up to date source, a clear improvement, just what the article needed. I still wonder if it should be clarified that it is 11th most popular destination? And is relatively popular more accurate than popular? Or where do we draw the line?61.45.122.36 (talk)17:48, 26 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
