There is historical disagreement over changing Sikorsky's nationality from Russian to Ukrainian. Edit requests which may be controversialrequire consensus existprior to implementation. Because of this, they are usuallydenied by editors.
In the only document where Sikorsky indicated his roots, he wrote that he was Ukrainian. This is stated by the Alpha Mater and the Ukrainian Institute of America. A letter from Igor Sikorsky to the historian Vasyl Halich was found, where he talks about his origins
Agree. Instead of listing him wrongly as Russian, he should be listed as Ukrainian. There was a time he said his family was Russian, but that is because American people would not have understood Ukrainian at that time. Daniel.Cardenas (talk)12:08, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
