It is called "SBTVD" only internally in Brazil. Nobody outside Brazil calls it SBTVD. They call it either "ISDB-Tb" or "ISDB International" (see dibeg.org, the Japanese organization that handles the ISDB-T standard).
SBTVD is only used by Brazilians due to their giant ego trips.
If there´s a change, then the content from SBTVD should be merged INTO the ISDB-Tb entry.

Where's the proof for Venezuela adopting SBTVD? --70.20.1.113 (talk)02:59, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There's no doubt thatSBTVD is a standard that derived greatly fromISDB. However, there are many significant differences beyond video and audio compression standards that make the Brazilian version unique. For instance,
There are many other sound reasons not to merge the two systems. I'll submit some contributions that might address this further in the near future.--Alexandre Infante de Castro 22:32, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Infante (talk)
Additionally, The arcticle didn't state that Venezuela will adopt ISDB-T/SBTVD, but only points the country is analyzing the system (experimental).—Precedingunsigned comment added bySbtvdisdbt (talk •contribs)15:42, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Am I the only one who noticed that Silvio Santos' channel, SBT - Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão, has the same name (since Silvio's youth, LOOOOOONG ago) of the under implementation digital signal??? Other broadcasters wouldn't allow that... Unless of course the whole thing be funded by SBT... It's just a stupid name, making it the same of some known channel would greatly affect the market, and the government or the developers wouldn't do it without reason ($$$)... Or am I missing something?Ok that SBT is not a real name, it's just like "Brazil Textile Company", and if the gov makes a textile company they could name it like that even tough I alredy named mine textile co by that name, but the gov wouldn't do it, they'd call theirs the "Textiles from Brazil Company" or just any other stupid change only to avoid confusion... Dunno if I made myself clear because I'm copmpletely confused over it!—Precedingunsigned comment added by189.5.137.74 (talk)04:05, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Although it is true that the name of Brazilian DTV standard - SBTVD - recalls the name of one of Brazilian television network - SBT - that really means nothing. The name SBTVD was choosen by Government members during the composition of the Presidential Act that created the study group to implement DTV in Brazil, and there is no relationship with SBT TV Network. The standard was created by Brazil Government and SBT does not have any relationship with its creation. The standard is a Brazil property and its name is a Government decision and no private company can complain about it, so other Brazilian TV Networks can't complain and actually they are not complaining at all. Another point to consider is that SBTVD is used basically by technical comunity and not by general population, that refers to digital TV like DTV or simply "digital TV system".—Precedingunsigned comment added bySbtvdisdbt (talk •contribs)23:12, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The grammar and punctuation in this article is terrible. It needs to be read carefully and revised multiple times by native English-speakers. (ie. the second paragraph was one sentence 5 lines long when I first read it)99.225.106.226 (talk)17:26, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For sure any help from native English-speakers in reviewing the arcticle is wellcome.
Philippines is still testing the ISDB-T, and there is a possibility that the country may create their own version of the format. So it is still hard to say if we will be the same with South America.— Precedingunsigned comment added by112.204.135.89 (talk)16:36, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi everyone,I think we should merge this article withISDB-Tb, or redirect that one to this. What do you think?Thanks!Zalunardo8 (talk)15:00, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi all,The article says 94% of the households in Brazil have at least one TV set. Anyone can verify this with a reliable source? I found this article dated December 2012 that says (in Portuguese) that 95.1% of Brazilian households have at least one TV set. Can I change this on the article? Thanks!Zalunardo8 (talk)11:07, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
One of the aspects covered on the article is related to the multi program feature and how innovative it is. Now, this is not a particular characteristic of the standard nor innovative at all.Does it make sense to keep this section ?Tafinho (talk)12:08, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
