– There appears to be aprimary topic for "Galesburg", which isGalesburg, Illinois, soGalesburg should be aWP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. It is by far the most populous Galesburg, and by far the most popular in terms ofpageviews (a 7:1 ratio of dominance over all of the others combined for the last 5 years). Articles about micropolitan areas and metropolitan areas and other topics do not generally include the name of the state unless the place identification would be ambiguous without it. See, for example, the very recent eight-article RM discussion atTalk:Canton–Massillon metropolitan area#Requested move 26 September 2025. Note that for the micropolitan area, this would revert an undiscussed move in 2013. — BarrelProof (talk)16:47, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Support Your rationale is solid here. There are lots of Bostons, Berlins, Hanovers, Concords, etc. all over the world and all over the United States but there is a primary page they direct to because most people know which one is being discussed. Similar principle applies here.Gjb0zWxOb (talk)17:07, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
