User:MSJapan is trying to redirect Form 1040 toIRS tax forms without justification. The topic Form 1040 isnotable so the page should not be redirected or deleted, especially without justification or an AfD.Riceissa (talk)07:33, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
We have "it is important to pay one's taxes by a certain date", "there is only a maximum 25% penalty, so....", "forms can be filed in the following manners for certain income brackets...", "there is a three-year refund time limit" and the like. I have trimmed out absolutely everything that may be construed as pertaining to giving actual guidance on how to fill out the tax form perWP:NOTHOWTO. Much of the information is simplistic nonsense - the refund time limit has exceptions. Statinganything to the effect of "one should do" is not appropriate. Tax advice should be given by professionals, not here.MSJapan (talk)16:39, 2 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This article needs to be updated as the 1040A and 1040EZ forms no longer exist, and the schedules are generally numbered now.66.42.154.104 (talk)23:15, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
