Much of the information here seems as if it has been copied and pasted from theFlorence and The Machine page - is the excessive amount of purely band-related information necessary to form an article on this individual?

I'm new to this site but I have the hyperlinks where Florence says her mother is American as well as live performances onyoutube where she constantly mentions her American descent and is even an American passport holder. Thanks to whoever can do this for me and point me in the right direction. Like I said, I'm still kinda of new.

She's not Dutch-English, she's American-English, I don't know why someone put that in.Jmusc85 (talk)05:57, 4 May 2012 (UTC)You should edit date of birth from 1976 to 1986[reply]
TheFamily and Childhood segment states Florence was born in "Camberwell, England" while the info box states "Rotterdam, The Netherlands".
I don't have the knowledge to know the correct location, but someone should fix this.SirQuackTheDuck (talk) 17:36, 26 April 2014 (UTC)It looks as if this has been fixed now.Vorbee (talk)20:52, 18 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I just heard and saw Florence Welch for the first time on TV. What struck me, and held my attention, was the tonal quality of her voice, reminiscent of the lateSandy Denny. Curious that Sandy Denny is not mentioned in the "Artistry" section, but that others are with whom I don't hear much commonality. However, in the "Influences" section, it says: "Welch stated that her lyrics related toRenaissance artists". Also, later in the article, she is quoted as expressing an affinity toStevie Nicks, which also makes sense to me. This may all eventually get sorted out. ---Dagme (talk)14:53, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have listed the previous Florence Welch image (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Florence_Welch_performing_in_2013.jpg) under speedy delete after going through reverse image lookups. It was deleted due to copyright violations; it was attributed to a well known photographer, but the uploader assumes "own work". The photo description had contrary informations: "The Sound of Change" was held on June 2013; the photo states that it was created on September 2013. To add icing on the copyright violation reasons, the previous photo was previously published on August 2013 on a different site.
For now, I have put a similar image relevant to her recent years, except the image shows her at Austin, Texas instead of Twickenham, London, England.Misterpither (talk)08:19, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding this recentedit, there are two sources: TheIrish Examiner says"events organiser James Nesbitt" whileBustle says"James Nesbitt (most famous for his role on Cold Feet)". Which is correct? There is no mention of Welch atJames Nesbitt. Thanks.Martinevans123 (talk)18:07, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I propose mergingFlorence and the Machine intoFlorence Welch. There is a lot of overlap between the two pages, on the career section for Welch and the history section for F+TM. From what I can tell, F+TM is the stage name for Florence Welch (similar toAphex Twin orToro y Moi). F+TM is referred to as a solo artist in some articles (example), and F+TM was nominated for Best Female Solo Artist at the 2010 Brit Awards, but on the other hand F+TM has also been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Inthis article it says "the machine" is "a series of session musicians switching in and out between the recording studio and the stage over the years." And so I am starting this discussion.Filmgirlfannn (talk)14:34, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
