Feist was just featured in a short film by Kevin Drew. It takes its name from Feist's song called The Water. The link to the video is here:http://pitchfork.com/tv/#/episode/986-the-water/1 if anyone wants to write an article.—Precedingunsigned comment added byRu-G Corp. Someone has to fix the chart positions. they are all shifted over or something. I cant do it because I don't know which position belongs to which chart.Crocodileman (talk)02:10, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I know I'm not logged in - I can never remember my details - sorry.Anyway, is a citation really needed for the statement (not my own):
"The song and its music video also featured in Apple's advertising campaign for its third generation iPod nano, which premiered on September 5, 2007. This increased interest in the song resulting in the song's appearance in the Billboard Hot 100."
Was the song in the Top 100 before the ad aired? If not, surely that's pretty good proof that it increased interest isn't it?—Precedingunsigned comment added by86.3.118.101 (talk)20:07, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The 2005 Junos haven't aired yet; isn't it a major spoiler to indicate that she's won the Best Alternative Album award? 1:17 PM EST, April 3.
Feist was born in Calgary, Alberta.
No she wasn't. She moved there.
Amherst doesn't border Sackville, they're in different provinces an hour apart. It's not the closest hospital either. so who knows why she went there. Edited.—Precedingunsigned comment added by142.167.48.14 (talk)03:32, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Feist was born in Amherst. Her family lived in Sackville but Amherst had the nearest real maternity ward so her parents drove there when her mother went into labour.Elconcho (talk)18:05, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This category doesn't make sense. What is a person's origin if it's not his or her birthplace? Is it their hometown? If so then this incorrectly lists Toronto as her hometown, but I think the category is far too ambiguous so I'm deleting it.BigRockFan (talk)05:59, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Anyone know what the arrows are about?--81.170.75.16816:09, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
She has a thing with drawing things on her skin with black marker/mascara/charcoal, not sure why though. In one of the videos for Mushaboom she draws a necklace on herself. Mabye that's her littlequirk? She also has arrows on her legs in the "One Evening" video.Vihrea03:04, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Feist is listed on interscope's website as being signed to cherrytree/interscope, does anyone know when the change from arts & crafts to interscope happened?L4ck 0f 54n17y01:08, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know she is still with Arts and Crafts as she is still on their website.Vihrea05:31, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Undertrivia: "Feist's cover of "Inside & Out" has become the definitive version to most" - This needs citation (likily impossible) and is quite subjective; I think it should be removed.
Did she contribute to Folkloric Feel by Apostle of Hustle?? I swear I can hear her voice on that record??User:Vihrea00:14, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used underfair use but there is noexplanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to theboilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent withfair use.
Please go tothe image description page and edit it to include afair use rationale. yeah interesting but. I think an encyclopedia article needs to be of more help to someone who looks up Feist and doesn't know anything about them. IN particular this is a bit listy - could someone sum up what she thinks is important in her work and how it is received. What is she singing about and why ? thanks90.16.46.21307:26, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This
Feist working the back of the stage at Peaches' shows, using a sock pocket
sounds like fascinating personal reminiscence (is that you Peaches?), but I'm damned if I know what it means. Can anyone enlighten me?If not I'll come back some time and delete....Ian Page11:10, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This might seem a bit trivial, but I was wondering on the correct pronunciation of her name. Is it said in the German manner as in Geist or Zeit or what?Shostie05:16, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree the old one is better. While not as clear a view of her face, it does show her performing.Padraic15:03, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really think she sings indie rock considering that indie rock is not an specific genre, it is a movement, an ethic and I think that the fact that she has signed to Interscope Records (which is owned by Universal Music Group)destroy the ethics of her being indie rock (and her newest album is said to be indie rock). She plays a genre obviously but she doesn't belong anymore to the indie rock scene, I don't know if anyone agrees with me. It's like saying that Panic! At The Disco is indie when they're incredibly mainstream.The-15th18:46, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Indie rock" has most certainly become a genre alongside being a movement or, more accurate still, a simple fact (an unsigned rock musician is independently produced rock music). Panic! at the Disco makes Indie Rock that belongs to the genre, as do plenty of signed and successful bands. Listening toThe Reminder, Feist surely doesn't make any such music. We agree that she shouldn't be classified that way, though we agree for different reasons.Womanhood19:50, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This article is just all over the damn place. I don't really know enough about her or Wikipedia to come in and start ordering and cleaning things up, though I did just make a few simple grammar edits for clarity (while I wasn't signed in, apologies!). Who wants to help? This article needs it bad.Womanhood19:53, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that simply repeating what was stated in the article counts as a reference. --Apple1976 (talk)08:22, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't believe that there was onlyone free portrait of Feist uploaded to Commons, so I found a couple serviceable ones from Flickr. I thought it might be good to put both of them up and see which one people preferred if I was to use one in the infobox (I think the current one is too bright). So please look atImage:Leslie Feist in SF.jpg andImage:Leslie Feist at the filmore in SF.jpg and let me know. Thanks,VanTucky01:54, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The article states that she has dual citizenship because of her father, but with a citation needed. She stated, in all seriousness, on The Colbert Report that she was given US citizenship as part of her iPod deal. This needs to be clarified or removed
Here's a transcript of that interview[2].

she did a few songs on the album "Dark was the night" with Grizzly Bear and Benjamin Gibbard... probably worth mentioning... google "dark was the night"..

"She does not like the numbers 7 & 8, and left them out of "1234" because of musical and numerical differences."
Is there a citation or reference? Where does this come from?LOctopus (talk)16:30, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is stated that she has sang duets withVanessa Carlton andMarina and the Diamonds on the new albumMetals, but can anyone specify which songs these would be? A Google search has turned up nothing. I'd like to include that information, assuming it is not a sourced hoax, either here or at the album article. --Mareklugtalk06:22, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
