Merger Proposal

[edit]

As somebody mentioned a year ago in theother talk page, this is a pretty obvious merge.TachyonJack (talk)20:15, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge

[edit]

There is no reason that this article should not be merged with the article on Eugeroics as that is the name of the category in the Stimulant box.— Precedingunsigned comment added by207.251.103.42 (talk)20:13, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have completed the merge and, as perWP:COMMONNAME merged into this article.LT90001 (talk)03:35, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Drug Examples 2C-G-N removed

The text removed is found below

Other drugs:

Given that this is described to have amphetamine like effects, and was only synthesized and tested by a very small group of individuals, it is very dubious to have this stated as an example of a eugeroic. The description that this compound is amphetamine like, on its page, should be enough to warrant removal as the whole point of wakefulness promoting agents is to NOT have such effects.

orexin

[edit]

moved here perWP:PRESERVE as this was unsourced:

The main mechanism of action of wakefulness enhancers(eugeroics) come from activation of orexin receptors(orexin receptor agonist), which causes an increase in histamine levels.

The functional opposites of wakefulness-promoting agents arehypnotics, such as centrally-actingantihistamines (H1 receptor antagonists) andsuvorexant, anorexin receptor antagonist.
