When the article states "Maredydd now allied himself to King Edward I of England" I'm pretty sure that's referring to Rhys ap Maredudd because the ODNB says in his entry "Rhys came to an agreement with the new king in 1277 and in return Edward promised (11 April) to consider his claim to Dinefwr Castle". But I think Wikipedia's article says "In 1255 Llywelyn the Last gave Dinefwr to Rhys Fychan, then later gave it to Maredudd ap Rhys" it's probably referring to Rhys ap Maredudd's father who was still alive at the time. Part of the confusion arises because there is no indication in the Wikipedia article that one has succeeded the other.Nev1 (talk)18:08, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
