I think the wording of this article should be altered as I don't think the phrase "Mental Hospital" is really an acceptable phrase in today's society. Psychiatric Hospital would be more appropriate and acceptable.94.192.241.209 (talk)11:02, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
obviously historical reference should be preserved94.192.241.209 (talk)10:51, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
According to Colin G. Maggs, the station was opened in 1995, not in 1994 - he states that the first sod was cut in November 1994. I have the Mitchell & Smith book which was used as a ref for the 1994 opening date:
{{cite book}}:Unknown parameter|month= ignored (help)Although mine is a 2005 reprint, not the 1992 original, I can't find any mention of Digby & Sowton in there. Ican find one mention of Clyst St Mary & Digby Halt - in the caption to fig. 54. Accordingly, I've removed the Mitchell & Smith ref from the opening of D&S - if reinserting, please give figure (picture) number for the fact concerned. --Redrose64 (talk)16:53, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Digby and Sowton railway station →Digby & Sowton railway stationDigby & Sowton railway station – The matterhas been raised before to no consensus but I thought the reason given by the nominator inadequate. PerMOS:&, when an ampersand is in a proper name, it should be retained. The proper name of the station appears to be Digby & Sowton.Madditron points out correctly that the websites of GWR and National Rail use ampersands, but also station signage displays the ampersand as seenhere and station documentation does as seenhere. Additionally,GWR's National Rail Contract from 2022 lists Digby & Sowton with the ampersand.A Google search reveals that the only people other than us who refer to it as Digbyand Sowton are Exeter Memories, some train operators exclusively in the title of the page (my best theory is that they use the same software, which prunes text before putting it in the title) and a small amount ofWP:UGC. I'm not exactly sure what documentation definitively lists names of stations or if such documentation exists, but it seemsso incredibly likely that Digby & Sowton is its proper name thatMOS:& should be applied to it.Coleisforeditor (talk) 16:40, 19 October 2025 (UTC)— Relisting. Coleisforeditor (talk)17:48, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]But retain an ampersand when it is a legitimate part of the style of a proper noun, the title of a work, or a trademark, such as inUp & Down orAT&T.
