User:Athard/Dice.comDice.com — This userspace draft is ready for the mainspaceCunard (talkcontribs)03:55, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Using multiple secondary reliable sources, I rewrote the article duringWikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Athard/dice.com to demonstrate that Dice.com passesWikipedia:Notability (web). Seebefore the rewrite vs.after the rewrite. Shortly after the MfD was closed, I moved the userspace draft to the mainspace because the article was ready.Athard (talk ·contribs) requested that the article be moved back to userspacebecause

Could we keephttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dice.com in the work area for now and not make it live? I would like to add more information to the article and had merely asked for help for the first part that I wrote, to make sure that I was on the right path. This article is not ready for the live area.Athard (talk) (at 14:49 on 8th March

On 04:54 on 9th March, Iasked Athard to move it back to the mainspace because, with my addition of reliable sources, there would be no chance of it getting deleted. A week later, there has been no response, and I do not believe I will be getting one, sinceAthard (talk ·contribs) ignored aquestion I asked him/her on 21:10 on 4th March.

I do not want this well-sourced article to remain indefinitely in the userspace, so I would like it to bemoved back toDice.com.Cunard (talk)03:55, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As the admin who moved it to the userspace - and since Athard has not responded to your query - I am going to move it back to article space unless there are any objections at RM. Having had a look at it, I agree with you that it is ready! --PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\08:42, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I had originally moved it, as it was listed in the "backlog" because of the quote above from 8th March! That is why it has been moved back here. --PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\08:48, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for fixing that and for reviewing my changes to the article.Cunard (talk)09:07, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The bot got confused with the date in the quote you gave above, so it thought it was an expired RM! I've corrected it, but the bot still hasn't quite got it right... but at least it's in the right section now! --PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\09:12, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of arequested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Writing style

[edit]

I think that things likeOn any given day, Dice.com has approximately 60,000 tech job listings. andFounded in 1990 by Lloyd Linn and Diane Rickert, two former contractors, Dice.com had 175 employees by April 2001.[9][10] Today, Dice Holdings, Inc. has 265 employees worldwide. sound more like promotional material than a Wikipedia article, but I could be wrong. What do you think?Impetiredome (talk)22:02, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Corporate Propaganda

[edit]

This article's NPOV is about equivalent to that of my tight, virginal Franco-American sphincter.

Could someone who is not In League With Satanplease step up to the plate and replace this sorry mess with something that doesn't come from an ad agency. THnax!2601:1C2:4E02:3C3E:B023:9FDF:BB56:4924 (talk)16:19, 18 August 2018 (UTC) User_Talk:MichaelCrawford[reply]

Updated Dice.com Job Count

[edit]

Hi, I wanted to suggest that the job count be updated for Dice.com in the first paragraph. Based on information provided to investors on May 1, 2014, "Dice.com typically has approximately 80,000 job listings."

"Dice.com Monthly Job Data". Dice.com. Retrieved14 May 2014.

I am a director at Dice.com, but this information does come from material provided to investors. If this up to date job count was included, you could delete the phrase "In June 2009, Dice.com advertised 48,000 jobs at the bottom of the first paragraph. What do you think?Jonathan DiceHoldings (talk)15:05, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

HiJonathan DiceHoldings (talk ·contribs). Thank you for posting this update on the talk page. I haveadded "In 2014, Dice.com advertised 80,000 positions daily" to the article.Cunard (talk)03:04, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

DHI

[edit]

ApparentlyDice Holdings, Inc. renamed itself toDHI Group, Inc., which doesn't stand forDice Holdings, Inc. Group, Inc. but forDelivering Hire Insights Group, Inc..[1] --92.208.243.17 (talk)12:50, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Stumbled across this. The link is wrong. "DHI Group" links to "DHI (company)", a Danish company. I suggest renaming/moving Dice.com to "DHI Group" with appropriate adjustments to the article to reflect the history (= Dice.com) and current setup.
