What is meant by "An average comparison of distance against time would be about 50 minutes for every Km"? Shouldn't that be 5 or is something else meant by it?SietskeEN16:23, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed it too. You would have to cycle very slowly for this. 20 kilometers in one hour would be a better estimate.Gemertp20:20, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have cleaned the article, it contained many small mistakes, like periods missing at the end of sentences. If you notice more, please correct them. I also removed the comment about bikes needing no gears because the country is flat. While some bikes indeed don't have them, they are necessary. The country may be flat, but normal wind speeds are 3 beaufort and if you have a headwind you do need the gears.Gemertp20:37, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Surely gears are useful rather than necessary.Chasnor15 (talk)21:27, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am not from the Netherlands, so I would rather let the local experts edit this article, but I saw an article that may be of interest:(Dutch) Cyclists create their own GPS maps. Perhaps a link to this article and to theDutch cycle route planner site would be appropriate in the section:Cycling_in_the_Netherlands#Route_Maps or in an External Links section.Teratornis15:53, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest this article is retitled 'Cycling in the Netherlands'Chasnor15 (talk)21:26, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
wtf? there's a contradiction --88.97.32.71 (talk)20:16, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
But still true. Bicycle helmets are hardly ever worn in the Netherlands. I can't speak for Denmark.--Degen Earthfast (talk)19:22, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The cited statistics (“A quarter of all deadly accidents in the Netherlands involve cyclists”) don’t imply that cycling became dangerous if confronted with the numbers of the previous paragraph (“Nearly a third of all journeys made in the Netherlands are made by bicycle.”)So I removed the claim about danger.Torzsmokus (talk)01:16, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,I have just created a page in Dutch (geschiedenis van het fietsen in Nederland/ a history of Cycling in the Netherlands) and I think it would be useful to link it both ways. How can I do that?Gallimons (talk)08:34, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I notice thatCycling in the United States was (until I just edited it) mostly about the sport, rather than the mode of transport. Unsurprisingly, this article is the opposite. But I can't find any article about cycling as a sport in the Netherlands. Should that be added here, or begun as a separate page?{{u|Sdkb}} talk23:46, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
