There is a discussion atWikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Clinical_medicine#Infobox_Help about an infobox format for hospitals, andTemplate:Hospital is being tested/demonstrated on this page. It may change over the next few days, so if you have any comments on what standard fields should be included, or how it should be formatted, your comments are welcome, and your patience is appreciated. --Arcadian03:01, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I question the need to list:a) celebrity patientsb) their maladiesLorenzoB18:57, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is NOT an article listing famous patients of Cedars-Sinai. If you want to do that, create a separate list. Thanks. --Gmatsuda (talk)23:30, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This article is barely more than a trivia list of celebrities. In addition, there's a bulleted list and another paragraph above listing yet more names -- some of which are duplicated. There is very little other info in the article about the actual hospital. The article is little more that gossip. It is E! tabloid trash - perfect for Wikiality, but would never fit into a real encyclopedia - or any other publication of any note.—Precedingunsigned comment added by86.149.140.187 (talk)01:24, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This article has the following problems:
1) As stated above, the article does little more than list all the celebrities who have received care there. This is not relevant or important. A blurb stating that many celebrities have received care at Cedars-Sinai would be more than enough...perhaps you could list two or three. But that's all that's needed.
2) There is little important information about the hospital, and what little substance is there, is not cited well. Additional inline citations, along with additional, verifiable sources, are needed.
3) The article, in its current state, is also not much more than an advertisement for the hospital (albeit a very poor one).
4) Without sufficent citations, it appears that much of the article is based onoriginal research, which violates Wikipedia policies.
5) The article needs to be cleaned up perWikipedia standards, and really needs to be expanded. --Gmatsuda (talk)09:03, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please, pardon me but would it be so wrong to have some of the hospital's Jewish heritage mentioned, or at least the allusions its Biblical namesakes cast?Thecurran (talk)00:04, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It seems that there are a lot of people who are only interested in making this an article about what celebrities have been treated at Cedars-Sinai, and about which ones are most popular and should be the ones listed.
Keep in mind that this article is about CEDARS-SINAI MEDICAL CENTER. It is NOT about any particular celebrity. Moreover, for the few celebrities who are listed, they should show how Cedars-Sinai has treated celebrities for many, many years. A recent edit replaced all the celebrities with ones who are popular now, which is a totally ridiculous edit. Of course, I don't expect any of the people who have been making such edits to care, or to even read this, for that matter. --Gmatsuda (talk)01:54, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the article talks about the Cedar part of the name, what about the Sinai part? Where does it come from? What does it mean? why they called it this way?—Precedingunsigned comment added by192.167.209.10 (talk)16:00, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regardingthis edit - The source is not neutral and the language in the edit is inappropriately biased. The edit is about a hospital refusing care to a person because of illegal substance use, and it seems that this has happened twice at the same hospital. There is some press about this, but the way the information is presented should meetWP:NPOV and the source given in this edit should be replaced with a neutral one. Perhaps this edit should not stand in its current form. Blue Rasberry(talk)16:23, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm surprised this wasn't included, as I have found references from several sources. Apparently in 1972 a strange woman (who didn't look quite human) was brought in covered in blood, and attacked and killed three people. I've added a few sources but anyone with access to the newspapers of that time can you find something a bit deeper?— Precedingunsigned comment added by142.150.48.176 (talk)02:40, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According to the map, the CSMC is located in West Hollywood, a city of its own, not in Los Angeles (although the city of LA is a couple of blocks away and WeHo belongs to greater LA area). Am I right? If so, we should correct it. Cheers!— Precedingunsigned comment added by85.177.17.223 (talk)20:24, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article describes Cedars-Sinai as for profit, but according to Cedars' own website and IRS tax status, it is nonprofit?https://www.cedars-sinai.org/giving/faqs.html - here is their latest Form 990 filing with the IRS -https://apps.irs.gov/pub/epostcard/cor/951644600_202206_990_2023060921423470.pdf - this clearly shows 501c3 status.
This article lists the funding as for profit, and not sure where that source is.71.38.219.9 (talk)03:33, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi editors, as part of my work for Beutler Ink on behalf ofCedars-Sinai Medical Center I would like to propose updates to the article. My suggestions will aim to streamline the article, bring it up to date where needed, and overall improve it based on Wikipedia's content rules.
For my first request, I propose replacing the paragraph in theCedars of Lebanon Hospital subsection with the following:
Jewish businessman Kaspare Cohn opened the Kaspare Cohn Hospital in a convertedVictorian house inAngelino Heights, Los Angeles, on September 21, 1902.[1][2] The 12-bed facility offered free care to an influx ofEastern European Jewish immigrants, many withtuberculosis, and provided Jewish physicians a place to practice medicine in the face ofoutside discrimination. Dr.Sarah Vasen served as the hospital’s first medical director. By 1910, the hospital moved to Stephenson Avenue (nowWhittier Boulevard), expanding to 50 beds and adding a separate tubercular ward. In 1930, seeking a broader community appeal, it relocated to Fountain Avenue inHollywood and was renamed Cedars of Lebanon.[3]
References
This version removes specific addresses, other granular details, and unsourced content; adds context about serving Jewish immigrants; and clarifies Sarah Vasen's role as being the "first medical director" instead of "superintendent" based on what reliable sourcing reports.
That's it for this request. But if you are interested in taking a look at my new revised draft in its entirety, you can find a diffhere.
