Sovereignty or Suzereinty
It is stated without any specified source that the the Maratha Gaekwad rulers of Baroda acknowledged Britishsovereignty as consequence of the Second Anglo-Maratha war which ended in1803. I wonder if what is signified here isde jure sovereignty or what in actuality was acknowledged by the Maratha Gaekwad rulers wassuzereinty, which needs be acknowledged as a distinct form of legal autonomy. --Xact (talk)04:11, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
