Correct. BASF is the initials of Badische Anilin und Soda Fabrik which is included in the "Founded as" section. It is pronounced by spelling out the letters. BASF is sometimes referred to as Badische.Sandcherry (talk)21:28, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In the 80s and 90s I recall seeing the BASF name on video cassettes sold in the US. But I didn't se anything about this mentioned in the article, which I find a bit odd as it was the first (and last) time I remember seeing the name. Scotch and Ampex in the USA, Sony in Japan, BASF in Germany

were some of the most famous recording tape brands

There should be mention of one of their older slogans which i think might have been in the 80s or 90s
