That's not really an argument. Using abbreviations is somewhat unusual. The sp=us parameter does not change your edits in any material way, and given that there is a decent change in the future that someone will decide that abbreviations are inappropriate, then having the sp=us parameter there is helpful, as it is often forgotten.
