Takane, Yamanashi

Takane (高根町,Takane-chō) was atown located inKitakoma District,Yamanashi Prefecture,Japan.

As of 2003, the town had an estimatedpopulation of 9,579 and adensity of 148.14 persons per km2. The total area was 64.66 km2.

On November 1, 2004, Takane, along with the towns ofHakushū,Nagasaka andSutama, and the villages ofAkeno,Mukawa andŌizumi (all fromKitakoma District), was merged to create the city ofHokuto.[1][2]
