TheTaipei Representative Office in Denmark; (Chinese:駐丹麥台北代表處;pinyin:Zhù Dānmài Táiběi Dàibiǎo Chù)represents the interests ofTaiwan in theKingdom of Denmark andIceland in the absence of formal diplomatic relations, functioning as ade facto embassy. Its counterpart in Taiwan is theTrade Council of Denmark inTaipei.[3]
The first representative office of Taiwan in Denmark was theFree China News Syndicate, established in 1973, which also covered the otherNordic countries.[1] This was succeeded in 1980 by theFree China Information Office, while another body, known as theFar East Trade Office, was established by theMinistry of Economic Affairs.[4] In 1991, the Free China Information Office were merged into theTaipei Economic and Cultural Office in Denmark, which adopted its present name in 1995.[4] Since June 1995, it no longer has responsibility forNorway and theBaltic States, but has remained responsible for Taiwan's relations withIceland, as well asGreenland and theFaroe Islands.[1]

The office is headed by a representative, currentlyLee Shying-jow, the former Commanding General of theRepublic of China Army.
