Tadamon Sporting Club Sour (Arabic:نادي التضامن الرياضي صور,lit. 'Solidarity Sporting Club Tyre'), known asTadamon Sour or simplyTadamon, is afootball club based inTyre, Lebanon, that competes in theLebanese Premier League, and isprimarily supported by theShia Muslim community.[2] They play their home matches at theTyre Municipal Stadium, and have won oneLebanese FA Cup and twoLebanese Challenge Cups.
In 1939, a group of students fromTyre, Lebanon, established a football team, which officially received its license in 1947.[3] Due to the1948 Palestinian expulsion and flight, a number of Palestinian players joined Tadamon Sour.[3] The team played numerous games in Syria and Jordan, and hosted Egyptian clubAl Ahly in Tyre.[3]
In 1991 Tadamon Sour finished runners-up in theLebanese Second Division, and were promoted to theLebanese Premier League.[3] In 2000–01 they won theLebanese FA Cup, beatingAnsar 2–1 in the final.[4]
Tadamon Sour playsSalam Sour in theTyre derby. The club also plays theSouth derby withGhazieh, based on their location.[5]
