Taanah (Arabic:طعانة,romanized: Ţa‘ānah), alternatively spelledTana, is a village in northernAleppo Governorate, northwesternSyria. Situated in theAqil mountains, some 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) southeast of theShahba reservoir, it is located about halfway betweenAkhtarin and the northern outskirts of the city ofAleppo.
Administratively the village belongs toNahiya Akhtarin inAzaz District. Nearby localities includeAblah 6 km (3.7 mi) to the north andFafin 6 km (3.7 mi) to the southwest. In the 2004 census, Taanah had a population of 1,062.[1]
