Mateo Arias, also known asTéo (stylized as¿Téo?), is an American rapper and actor based in Los Angeles, California. He starred in the AmericanDisney XD seriesKickin' It as Jerry Martinez and the 2020 Americancoming-of-age storyBlast Beat as Carly Andres. In 2018, his debut studio album ¿Téo? was released and has received over 50 million streams onSpotify. Arias has worked withJaden Smith,Post Malone,Lido,Willow Smith, andKali Uchis.[1][2][3][4][5]

Early life

Arias was born inAtlanta, Georgia to Colombian parents Mónica and César Arias.[6] He grew up in betweenLawrenceville and Atlanta in a pseudo-Colombian culture and was raised bilingual although he didn't speak English until he was about four years old.[7] His older brother is actor and singer,Moisés Arias.[8]

Career

Arias started his career as an actor before launching his musical career in 2017 and released his debut single "Uno Dos" which featured his longtime friend Jaden Smith.[9][10] The following year, he released 2 singles "Palm Trees" and "Orso (off top)". Since then he has released multiple singles including "Americano", "UNI2", "Hope 4" and "Buzzed" which featured American singer Willow Smith.[11][12] His debut studio album "¿Téo?" was released in August 2018. In 2021, his second studio album "Sol" was released.[13]

Arias performed at the22nd Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2023.[14]
