Ancient suburb of Byzantium
For the town of ancient Cilicia, seeSyca.

Sycae (Greek: Συκαί), later known asJustinianae (Ίουστινιάναι) andJustinianopolis (Ίουστινιανούπολις), was a town ofancient Thrace, a suburb ofByzantium-Constantinople, that was inhabited during theRoman andByzantine empires.[1][2]

Its site is located near the neighborhood ofGalata inKaraköy,East Thrace (EuropeanTurkey).[1][3]
