Susan Sessions Zuccotti (born November 14, 1940) is an Americanhistorian, specializing in studies of theHolocaust. She holds aPhD in Modern European History fromColumbia University. She has won aNational Jewish Book Award for Holocaust Studies,[1][2] and thePremio Acqui Storia – Primo Lavoro forItalians and the Holocaust (1987). She also received a National Jewish Book Award for Jewish-Christian Relations, and theSybil Halpern Milton Memorial Prize of theGerman Studies Association in 2002 forUnder His Very Windows (2000). She was married to real estate developerJohn Zuccotti until his death in 2015.[3]
Zuccotti has taught courses on Holocaust history atBarnard College andTrinity College.[4]
Zuccotti argues inUnder His Very Windows thatPope Pius XII knew of the mass murder of Jews during the Holocaust and could have done more to stop it.[5]
