Sunset Lake is a 253-acre (1.02 km2)[1] water body located inBelknap County in theLakes Region ofNew Hampshire, United States, in the towns ofGilmanton andAlton. Water from Sunset Lake flows south toCrystal Lake, the head of theSuncook River, which flows to theMerrimack River and ultimately theGulf of Maine.
The lake is classified as a warmwater fishery, with observed species includingsmallmouth andlargemouth bass,rainbow smelt,chain pickerel,brown bullhead,sunfish, andyellow perch.[2]
