Sungai Puyu is a state constituency inPenang,Malaysia, that has been represented in thePenang State Legislative Assembly.[3]

Since 2004[update] The State Assemblyman for Sungai Puyu is Phee Boon Poh from theDemocratic Action Party (DAP), which is part of the state's ruling coalition,Pakatan Harapan (PH).[4]

History

The Sungai Puyu state constituency was created and first contested during the1995 State Election.

Loo Ah Dee and Lee Ah Lee, politicians fromMalaysian Chinese Association (MCA) first held the seat from1995 to2004. During the2004 state elections, the constituency was wrested from theBarisan Nasional (BN) federal ruling coalition by Phee Boon Poh, aDAP politician. Phee has held Sungai Puyu since.
