Implant under the skin for drug delivery

Inmedicine, asubcutaneous implant is animplant that is delivered under theskin into thesubcutaneoustissue bysurgery orinjection and is used to deliver a drug for a long period of time.[1][2] Examples of drugs that can be administered in this way includeleuprorelin and thesex steroidsestradiol[3] andtestosterone.[citation needed]
