Stretchin' Out in Bootsy's Rubber Band is the first album by Americanfunk andsoul bandBootsy's Rubber Band, an offshoot act ofParliament-Funkadelic led bybassist andvocalistWilliam "Bootsy" Collins. It was released on January 30, 1976, onWarner Bros. Records.

The album was recorded around the same time asParliament'sMothership Connection andFunkadelic'sLet's Take It to the Stage atUnited Sound Systems inDetroit,Michigan. The album was produced by Collins andGeorge Clinton. Collins co-wrote all of the album's seven songs (two with Clinton, one with vocalist Leslyn Bailey and four with Clinton and other band members) and did thearrangements (horn arrangements in collaboration withFred Wesley).[4]

Stretchin' Out in Bootsy's Rubber Band has been reissued and remastered several times. In 2007, the album was licensed throughRhino Records and reissued through theCollectors Choice Music service.
