Efstratios "Stratos" Perperoglou (Greek: Στράτος Περπέρογλου; born August 7, 1984) is a Greek former professionalbasketball player. He is 2.03 m (6 ft 8 in) tall and he played mainly at thesmall forward position.
Perperoglou began his playing career with the youth clubs of AO Kavalas and Iviskos. He started his professional career withIlysiakos in 2002, and then he moved toPanionios in 2004. In 2007, he transferred fromPanionios to the big GreekEuroLeague clubPanathinaikos.
With Panathinaikos, Perperoglou won 4Greek League championships (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011) and 3Greek Cups (2008, 2009, 2012). He also won 2EuroLeague titles (2009, 2011), and theTriple Crown with Panathinaikos, in 2009.
In August 2012, he signed a two-year contract withOlympiacos.[1] With Olympiacos, he won the2012–13 season championship of theEuroLeague. He also won the2013 edition of theFIBA Intercontinental Cup.
On 18 June 2014 he signed a two-year deal withAnadolu Efes.[2] On 23 July 2015 he left Efes and signed a two-year deal withFC Barcelona Lassa.[3]
On 21 September 2017 he signed with Israeli clubHapoel Jerusalem for the 2017–18 season.[4]
On 3 August 2018 Perperoglou moved toSerbia and signed forCrvena zvezda for the2018–19 season.[5][6] Also, he played the2019–20 season for the Zvezda.
In July 2021, Perperoglou announced his retirement from his basketball career at age 36.[7]
Perperoglou won bronze medals with Greece junior national teams at both the2002 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship and the2003 FIBA Under-19 World Cup. He also played at the2004 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship.
Perperoglou has also played with theGreece men's national basketball team, and they won the bronze medal at the2009 EuroBasket. He also represented Greece at the2010 FIBA World Championship, the2013 EuroBasket, the2015 EuroBasket, and the2016 Turin FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Perperoglou is married to formerWNBA playerErin Buescher Perperoglou.[8]
