Stewart is anunincorporated community andcensus-designated place in centralRome Township,Athens County,Ohio,United States. The population was 221 at the2020 census.[3] It has apost office with theZIP code 45778.[4]
Stewart was laid out in 1875, when the railroad was extended to that point.[5] The community was named for Daniel Bertine Stewart, the original owner of the town site.[5] A post office has been in operation at Stewart since 1874.[6]

Stewart is located along theHocking River, just upstream from the confluence ofFederal Creek with the river. It is located at the intersection of State Routes144 and329.
