Steven Douglas Doan (born October 14, 1986) is an American attorney and politician serving as a member in theKentucky House of Representatives from the 69th district. Elected in November 2022, he assumed office on January 1, 2023. His current term ends on January 1, 2025. His district comprises parts ofBoone andKenton counties.[1]

Background

Doan was raised inErlanger, Kentucky, and attendedLloyd Memorial High School before earning aBachelor of Science ineconomics and business administration fromNorthern Kentucky University in 2009.[2] He went on to earn aJuris Doctor from Northern'sSalmon P. Chase College of Law in 2012.[1][3]

During the administration ofGovernorMatt Bevin, Doan was employed as general counsel for the Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy where he oversaw grant and revolving loan funds in excess of $80 million.[4]

Erlanger City Council

Following the death of long time Erlanger City Council member Kathy Cahill, Doan applied for and was subsequently appointed to fill the remainder of her unexpired term on August 9, 2021.[3] Instead of seeking reelection to the council seat, Doan chose to challenge incumbent representativeAdam Koenig in the 2022 Republican primary for Kentucky's 69th House district.[5]
