Steve Foxe is anAmericancomics writer,editor,children's book author, andjournalist. He is best known for his work on theX-Men andSpider-Woman and for editing a number ofhorror comics byJames Tynion IV, as well as co-creatingRazorblades: The Horror Magazine. He has been nominated for theEisner andRingo Awards. He is the co-creator ofWeb-Weaver, Marvel's first gay Spider-hero, withKris Anka.[1]

Career

Foxe was a comics journalist forPaste Magazine from 2015 through 2019.[2] He has written "more than fifty comics and children's books for properties includingPokémon,Batman,Transformers,Adventure Time,Steven Universe, andGrumpy Cat."[3]

In 2021, he was announced as the writer forSpider-Ham: Great Power, No Responsibility, a children's graphic novel fromScholastic.[4] In 2022, he became the writer forX-Men '92: House of XCII, a reinterpretation ofHouse of X andPowers of X and theKrakoan Age through the lens ofX-Men: The Animated Series with artist Salva Espin.[5] He also co-created and digitally self-publishedRazorblades: The Horror Magazine with James Tynion IV, which gained critical acclaim.[6][7] The horror magazine featured stories byRam V,Marguerite Bennett, Nick Robles, DaNi, Lonnie Nadler, and more, along with interviews of other comics creators such asScott Snyder. He also became the writer forArcher & Armstrong Forever, a four-issue series fromValiant Entertainment.[8]

In June 2022, it was announced that he would be writing Marvel's first gay male Spider-hero,Web-Weaver, inEdge of Spider-Verse #5[9][10] and then in December, it was announced thatParty and Prey, the queer horror comic he co-write withSteve Orlando, was optioned for a movie byLegendary.[11]

In 2023, he wroteX-Men Annual (2023) #1, along with artist Andrea Di Vito, an issue focusing onFirestar,[12][13] before being announced as the writer for theFall of X mini-seriesDark X-Men with artist Jonas Scharf[14] andSpider-Woman with artist Carola Borelli.[15] He was also announced to be the writer for another Fall of X mini-series,Dead X-Men,[16] as well asX-Men '97, a four-issue mini-series that served as a prequel to theanimated show[17][18] andX-Men: Heir to Apocalypse, a post-Krakoa mini-series that bridges the gap before theX-Men: From the Ashes relaunch.[19]

In 2024, Foxe also wroteChasm: Curse ofKaine, a mini-series about the former and currentScarlet Spiders meeting each other.[20] In May 2024, he became the writer for the all ages comicSpider-Man: Homeroom Heroes.[21] In September 2024, he was announced as the writer ofNew Champions, a book focusing on teen heroes originally introduced throughvariant covers,[22][23] andTimeslide, a one-shot issue aboutCable andBishop which would foreshadow upcoming Marvel storylines.[24]

Personal life

He is gay[25] and lives in Queens, New York, with his partner and dog.[26]
