Jacques Michel Stephan Beeharry (born 19 April 1975) is aMauritianbadminton player and coach.[1][2] He competed at the1996 and2000 Summer Olympics,[3] also at the1998,2002,2006 and2010 Commonwealth Games.[4][5][6] Beeharry was the bronze medalists at the2003 All-Africa Games in the men's singles, doubles, and team events.[7]

At the1996 Summer Olympics, he competed inmen's singles event and defeated byFumihiko Machida of Japan in the first round with the score 15-11, 15-5. Inmen's doubles event, he was partnered withEddy Clarisse and defeated byPeter Blackburn andPaul Straight of Australia in the first round with the score 15-3, 15-7. Inmixed doubles event, he was partnered withMartine de Souza and defeated byJens Eriksen andHelene Kirkegaard of Denmark in the first round with the score 15-6, 15-8. At the2000 Summer Olympics, he competed inmixed doubles event partnered withMarie-Helene Valerie-Pierre and defeated by the Canadian pairsMike Beres andKara Solmundson in the first round with the score 15-2, 15-6.[3]

Personal life

Beeharry is now works as a lecturer of physical education inCollège du Saint-Esprit.[8]
