Stephan A. Hoeller is an American author, lecturer andneo-Gnostic bishop.[1]
A lecturer and writer of books and articles aboutGnosticism andJungian psychology, Hoeller is also Regionary Bishop ofEcclesia Gnostica.[2]
Hoeller was ordained to the priesthood in theAmerican Catholic Church by Bishop Lowell P. Wadle in 1958,[citation needed] and consecrated bishop byRichard Duc de Palatine on April 9, 1967.[3] After the death of Palatine, Hoeller abbreviated Palatine's church's name — the Pre-Nicene Gnostic Catholic Church — toEcclesia Gnostica,[4] and has since held the title of Regionary Bishop.
Hoeller has lectured in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Hungary, Germany, and the United States.[citation needed] He was a member of the lecturing faculty of the lateManly P. Hall'sPhilosophical Research Society,[citation needed] and a national speaker for theTheosophical Society in America.[citation needed] His articles have appeared inGnosis magazine andQuest Magazine.
