Stan Mikawos (born May 11, 1958) is a formerCanadian football player. A native ofPoland who grew up inWinnipeg,Manitoba, Mikawos played college football atNorth Dakota.[1][2] He played professional football in theCanadian Football League (CFL) as adefensive tackle for theWinnipeg Blue Bombers from 1982 to 1996.[3] During his time with the Blue Bombers, the team won threeGrey Cup championships in 1984, 1988 and 1990.[4][5][6] In the 1984 Grey Cup game, Mikawos recovered a fumble and ran 22 yards for a touchdown to give the Bombers a 24-17 lead.[4][7] He was inducted into the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame in 2000.[8] Mikawos currently resides inLos Cabos,Mexico, where he sells timeshares.
