Stafford is a suburb ofJohannesburg,South Africa. It's anindustrial suburb located south of theJohannesburg CBD, close toSpringfield. It is located in Region F of theCity of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality.
The suburb was established on land called theBooysen Estate.[2] It became a suburb on 7 July 1937 and is named after the landowner, Arentz Edward Stafford.[2]
Stafford is home to the games of theBasketball National League, South Africa's top basketball division. The games take place at theWembley Stadium, a former ice-rink which holds up to 3,000 visitors.[3]
